Elopement
SIGNATURES + I DO’S + WITNESSES
You are looking to come in just get married! There is no need for a large group, long ceremony, or custom script.
For less than $100, an ordained wedding planner will help you legally get married at Hitch Studio and turn in your marriage license to the Brookings County Register of Deeds. This is the quick, hassle-free way to make it official.
Lite Ceremony
SIGNATURES + SMALL CEREMONY
You are wanting to seal your love with a small ceremony beside close friends and family at Hitch Studio or another private location.
An ordained wedding planner will create a custom ceremony script, officiate your ceremony, sign your marriage license, and turn it in to the Brookings County Register of Deeds office.
Luxe Ceremony
SIGNATURES + FULL CEREMONY + REHEARSAL
You’ve planned a gorgeous wedding day full of friends, family, photos, and dancing, and are looking for a trained professional to perform a memorable and personal ceremony at your venue.
An ordained wedding planner will write a custom ceremony script, offer ceremony advice, attend your rehearsal, officiate your ceremony, sign your marriage license, and turn your signed marriage license in to the Brookings County Register of Deeds office.
When you choose Hitch Studio to officiate your wedding, you receive a keepsake book with your vows, a meeting to go over your wedding details, a rehearsal, a personalized ceremony, and the marriage license signature to make your marriage legal. We just need your forever love and two witnesses!
Our ceremonies usually last 15-30 minutes depending on unique elements, songs, and/or unity ceremonies. We encourage our couples to write their own intimate vows but if you choose, our officiants can create meaningful and beautiful vows for you. We will make sure to finish the script before your wedding day so you can make changes if needed. Some couples opt for this to be a surprise so they experience genuine reactions during the ceremony. Totally up to you!
If you are getting married outside of South Dakota, there are a few more rules that apply and some of the fees are different. For example; Minnesota has different prices depending on whether you and your partner take marriage classes. They also require the marriage license be turned into the same Register’s office it was picked up from. If you are planning your wedding out of state, let us help you figure out those details!
We have a large list of budget-friendly ceremony locations. Some optional locations in Brookings include the Hitch Studio conference room (free!), any city parks, city/county building, Art Museum on Campus, SDSU Sylvan Green, library, The White Frame, McCrory Gardens, Brookings Fire Department East Meeting Hall, Dakota Nature Park, Brookings Arts Council Building, and many more. If your ceremony is over 10 miles outside of Brookings, South Dakota, we do charge a small mileage fee.
No need to book Hitch’s full planning or decorating services either. Our wedding planners offer this service a la carte and can help you with your religious or non-religious (civil) ceremony. We also don’t require any marriage classes. We try to make this process as smooth as possible for you! We are available during the week from 10 am – 5 pm for elopements and lite ceremonies. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us about ceremonies outside of our normal hours. We may be able to accommodate you!
